What I Wore, Bought, and Liked This Week (Plus My Surgery Before and After)
Hello from my bed where I’ve spent the last few days recovering. I’ve never slept so much in my life. I thought I was going to end up watching TV but my vision has been a little blurry (which is normal post-op) and sleeping off the discomfort felt like a better option.
I found myself working late every Friday night to recap the week for Notes From the Week, which wasn’t working for my family. I’m going to be sharing The Weekly Edit instead, followed by a more in-depth monthly behind-the-scenes post. It will be a mix of links, what I’m wearing, buying, watching or listening to (when applicable), and maybe a fun moment from the week. So here it is, my first weekly edit.
WEARING
I wore my new gingham shorts Monday for my daughter’s 8th birthday paired with a white tee, and my wrap sandals.
Tuesday was surgery day. I threw on some Leset pants to go to surgery and have been in Lake pajamas since. This pair (which I have in a few prints) has been the easiest to get on post-surgery.

BUYING
I’ve been on an ice eye mask kick, and ordered a few of these.

KIDS AND CRAFTS
My oldest turned 8, so there were lots of tiny toys and some fun Lego sets added to our collection this week. I can’t wait to do this one with her.
I shared this earlier, but Boden released some really cute pieces for back to school, so I placed an order. Everything I bought is linked here.
The cutest Adidas that I have to get the girls. I just need to double check their sizes and place an order.
I just did another air dry clay restock since the girls have been making panda and penguin houses (and using 20 packs of clay at once). But it keeps them busy for hours, so it’s worth it.
I ordered some more lanyard string and still need to help the kids figure it out, but Estelle and I have been loving it.

SURGERY BEFORE AND AFTER
I'm not sure how much of the recovery process I'll end up sharing online since the swelling got pretty bad. So for now, here’s the “after” of my profile, just hours after surgery, next to the truly terrible "before" mugshot taken at the doctor's office.
I can't get over the difference. And I have eyelids! They’re swollen, but they’re there.
