I love the idea of paid subscribing as a “tip jar” for creators I enjoy where I don’t feel like I am “paying” for their content in the traditional way if I don’t buy a lot of the products they recommend. I have paid subscriptions to 4-5 Substacks (including yours!) and will on occasion rotate them but it feels like having access to some of my favorite magazines but that don’t “pile up” on the coffee table!
I’ve honestly been wanting to start a Substack myself. I used to write all the time and haven’t in so long- I thought it might be a good way just to get back into it. The thought of blogging and SEO and all that stuff feels really overwhelming and I am not a huge fan of social media.
I think it's so worth it. With you on social but I'm all in at this point and need it. SEO is another ballgame that I didn't even do until recently. Substack is such a nice little community and there's a lot less pressure. I love it here.
One of the things I treated myself to this year was a paid subscription to your newsletter, and every time you do a post I'm happy that I did this! :)
