Happy weekend! And happy summer! Just 6 more days, but it’s basically here. We’ve been playing outside, swimming, I power washed everything, and we just got a bunch of summer PJs. And it was a big week for us.

Linking the girls PJs and terry dress here, and if you’re here for links, scroll down for more. And I’m sharing some personal thoughts and updates at the bottom of this post.

Estelle arrived last weekend and I finally got to have someone pop out of a box and surprise my kids. Jack kept getting really close to our faces and saying “box box box” — he was so confused and so happy to see Estelle! He forgot all his French but definitely remembered her.

It’s been the best having her here and honestly feels like she never left. We went to the zoo, pool, to lunch a few times, and spent a lot of time together. She’s been staying at our house, and her best friend (another au pair who we know well) spent a few nights here which the girls loved.

And…our new au pair arrived yesterday! Similar to Estelle, I won’t share her name or face until she leaves. We matched in January, so it was really nice and a little surreal finally having her here. We ordered pizza (like we always do on Fridays) and had our first family dinner together. I didn’t want to make a big dinner and have her feel pressured to join us, so this felt easy in case she was tired. It’s a fine dance of “you’re always welcome but please know you can just go lay down and we won’t be offended.”

We connected her to Estelle months and months ago so she could share her experience with us, and they’ve been texting, so she actually knew Estelle was coming before I did. Had Estelle not gone home early, we would have had a 1-2 week overlap which is the dream so she could show her around. She’s really sweet and it just felt natural having her here.

Kate learned to ride a two wheeler less than a week after her new bike arrived! We got Margot a size 4 and it would work for her if she knew how to ride, but is just a little too big to learn on, and Kate’s size 2 is too small for her to learn on, so I ended up ordering the size 3. It’s fine since Kate will need it next year anyway. We had both girls practice balancing without pedals, and I knew when Kate was ready. My point in sharing this is that if your child is in between or at the bottom height of the next size, I’d size down for learning purposes.

I know it was hard for Margot seeing her little sister ride a 2 wheeler first, but it was a great life lesson. She started off upset, but we talked about how everyone does things in their own time, which is a lesson we all need. Later that afternoon, she was sitting on the grass cheering Kate on. I was so proud of her. And Kate keeps talking about how good they both are on their bikes. I know they’re my kids and I’m supposed to think this, but they really are the best kids.

Margot had her last oncology clinic follow-up since we’re at the 5 year mark from diagnosis, and Estelle was able to join us for the visit.

If you would like to donate something to pediatric cancer research in honor of the 45 children diagnosed with cancer every day, it would mean the world to our family. I’m going to match up to $2500.

My Summer Nail Color
I’m a neutrals girl most of the time, and always paint my nails a very light pink or soft white throughout the year, until we’re going on vacation or it’s summer. And then (and only then) will they be a bright poppy red. It’s the red hot chili color in this post. And I never deviate unless I’m going neutral.

And now for some links

EBY wireless bras are my favorite and if you buy 2 bras, you’ll get one FREE with code FREEBRA. And they have a fit guarantee so if the bra you order doesn't fit EBY will exchange it for the perfect size.

Here are the girls’ terry dresses
I found the cutest dress for the 4th of July
I found the cutest PJs for kids. My girls would love these and these.
I ordered these (in volley) for our trip
I just added this under $70 dress to my cart
I’m trying to talk myself out of ordering this top and these shorts. I even have a code for 10% off (DANIELLE10) so it’s not going well.
I probably didn’t need this but I bought it anyway.

I want to share a few things that are on my mind right now.
