Less than a week into 2025 and I'm already ready for things to calm down.

I am enjoying a little time to myself on a Saturday morning which is a rare occurrence in our house. My husband’s cousin’s 16 year-old daughter (aka “big cousin Kate”) is here keeping the kids busy until noon. It’s so quiet. For now, at least. I’m loving my new desktop calendar, which was gift from Flagship. I never know what day it is but keep everything in my google calendar, so this is really nice to have. And it’s beautiful.

After a week in Mexico and spending New Year’s Day with the kids and what felt like my life going up in flames this week (dramatic much?) I am slowly processing a very sudden change for our family.

You know where I stand politically and how I feel about what’s about to happen. Not good, obviously. But things good for our little family and they still are because…perspective.

I had a great therapy session this week and want to talk more about that in the next few days. We talked about the sudden change this week and processed it pretty quickly, and then moved on to reflecting on the last year. My therapist suggested going through my calendar, and writing down all the things that brought me joy. I am notoriously terribly at actually writing things down, but it’s so much better than typing, so I’m going to do it.

Just one year ago, I wasn’t sure who my (local) people were. I had my people and talked to them weekly, but no one nearby. Over the last year, I made a great group of girlfriends I get together with every month. And I had the highlight of the year, taking my daughter, who is a cancer survivor, to Paris to see Taylor Swift. Nothing could possibly top that moment – it was peak happiness.

I got some new posts up this week. There’s a post on beach vacation outfits, January tech backgrounds are live, and I updated my post on Valentine’s Day Pajamas.

And a few links for you.

My table lamp (pictured above) is 43% off.

My lab grown sapphire bracelet has been restocked. I haven’t taken it off since I got it.

My favorite ballet flats are $100 off.

ICYMI on IG, I found a new clean deodorant that has replaced Primally Pure, which I had been using for years and years.

Sakara offered to send me this 5 day reset, and the thought of not worrying about meals for myself and having good, fresh ingredients sounds so exciting. I’m not really following a certain diet but am excited to try this.

So here’s what happened this week.
