My first canvassing experience, getting by with 8 hours of childcare, and this month's giveaway recipient! Oh, and hanging with Jennifer Garner.
I feel like I start every weekend reading with what a week but WHAT A WEEK! I canvassed for Harris in WI, there was Halloween (and multiple school Halloween events), doctor appointments, 4 hours of childcare, half of my home is under construction, and then there’s election anxiety. But I found my wallet in the street an hour after dropping it outside of school, will make my Monday deadline, got a few blog posts done, and I met Jennifer Garner.
I was so excited (and nervous) when Liz Minnella invited me to come canvassing with her. I knew I couldn’t realistically leave for a weekend but WI is 90 minutes away, and I was able to go for the day. I drove up with Elise and it was a really inspiring day! There were a lot more Trump signs than I am used to but lots of excitement for Harris and there’s just such positivity out there.
Since we asked this question endless times on Saturday, do you have a plan to vote on election day? If not, please make one, and please support Kamala Harris! It’s also not too late to get involved. There’s still time to phone bank and that’s just as meaningful as canvassing.
Jennifer Garner was in WI for Harris and she came to speak before we went out canvassing. But we ran into her at a coffee shop before the event and had a few minutes to chat. I told her what her company meant for us since Margot had 5+ of her pouches DAILY for years when she was sick, and how she loved 13 Going on 30, too, and she asked if she could do this.
I wore my voting is in style sweatshirt and some of my Harris pins from Creators for Kamala and various events. I have so many pins.
The week went pretty well! Our new sitter was so sweet with Jack, and I was able to work while she was here. I got some work done during nap, too, but between pick-ups, calls, and dr. appointments, there just wasn’t a lot of time. I started the week off strong with early bedtimes, and then started working late again because there aren’t enough hours in the day and old habits.
