My favorite fall candle, the robe I haven't taken off, and more

I’m a little late with my weekend post but the kids have rotated getting sick and Jack decided to nap for ONE hour instead of 3, so time got away from me. Better late than never, right? My husband is back from his open house and I’m getting a quiet moment to write with my favorite fall candle and the prettiest view.

First, thank you to everyone who reached out here or on IG after I shared this post. I am doing better than I was, and would like to channel this energy into some meetings at our children’s hospital to hopefully get a few things to shift for other families. I’m honestly tired of having to push so hard, and many parents don’t have the resources to advocate that way that I do, so I just want the standard to be better if that makes sense. I think we can get there.

It’s been a strange few weeks with work, because I’ve never published so little content while producing so much content. I basically checked out with IG, because I like it the least and it’s the first thing to go when I’m not in the right headspace. 24 gift guides are complete, but until yesterday, only 1 blog post had gone up in weeks. I just published my favorite holiday decor and advent calendars. I know it’s early but I had to get ahead since our au pair leaves town in a week, and it was my goal to finish my gift guides by then.

We attended a ball for a wonderful organization that meant a lot to my friend Sarah who passed away earlier this year. She made me promise I’d go with her, and a group of us all went in her honor. It was a very emotional evening, and so good to be together, too. If you are a candidate, please consider becoming a donor with NMDP (formerly Be The Match). Because I’m sure someone will ask, this dress is 7 years old from my wedding weekend. But my necklace is new.

In other news, bathroom demo starts tomorrow! We are redoing the 3 remaining bathrooms in our home, so it should be fun having 6 people share one bathroom for 4-6 weeks. Honestly I’m just so excited for it to be finished and will share the before/after of each one space once they’re done.

We have family photos tomorrow after school, too, so it should be a really chill day. 🫠 I’m wearing this dress or this dress, or maybe both. I do need headshots tomorrow, too. And I added all my favorite pieces for family photos here.

And this is exciting if you like cozy things as much as I do. My favorite lounge set now comes in black, and my favorite pajama set comes in a green stripe for holiday. And I’ve been living in this robe.
