Weekend Reading #17
Weekend plans, what I made for dinner, recent purchases, best sellers, and what I wish I bought
My sister is in town this weekend. We went to a pumpkin patch and the Shedd Aquarium. It was definitely worth going downtown for the new Amazon Rising exhibit – we all loved it! My friend is on the way over with her girls for a movie night tonight. The weather is beautiful, and it’s been nice to get to spend some time with fun aunt Jess after what felt like a hard week.
I’ve been thinking a lot about when life feels good amidst things feeling hard or scary and want to write more about that soon, but I need a minute. That’s been my week this week – just needing to process and find the good, which, there’s a lot of that right now. I am someone who tends to fixate, and things I can’t control, or things that feel scary tend to consume my thought process.
Life is so good and I’m really happy, but the hard this week really got me. The worry and feeling like we took this step back in time to what we went through, and how it’s never really over…it was a lot.
The girls wore these, Jack wore this, and all 3 are wearing these sneakers (on sale). And I’ve been living in these leggings.
I made some updates to my Amazon shop. There are new sections for favorite toys and books by season and age, and I added some more items in home and organization.
I bought this cardigan in ivory for Paris, and Ba&sh sent me a second one in brown. This cardigan is perfect over a dress or paired with jeans. It’s cozy but looks and feels so chic.
Sales to watch
My cordless vacuum is 40% off! It’s light, easy to use, and the neck bends so it easily cleans under furniture.
My kids have loved this cookie set for years, and it’s almost 50% off!
What I made this week
I made this cider glazed chicken, and even the kids ate the chicken, but they weren’t feeling the veggies. The adults liked it!
Prime Day best sellers
My Tineco wet vac, which is still $150 off! I thought my floors were clean until I used this.
These Space Shuttle Magnatiles sold really well for me, and I was going to save them for Christmas but decided to just throw them in our Magnatile basket. The kids love them.
These Magnatiles road toppers always sell well for me, and have been a huge hit with my kids. They’re still 20% off!
All 3 love this puzzle, and I love that it’s a puzzle but can be used as an ice cream toy, too - and it’s 25% off. It’s a really great toy - highly recommend it.
What I bought:
I splurged on this jacket since it came back in my size and I love it.
Margot finally committed to a Halloween costume. So I got her this costume and wig.
I restocked my clean deodorant and Merit finally makes a brow pencil, so I bought that, too. It works really well, but I have a feeling it will run out fast. I’ll report back.
I ordered this for my Hello Kitty obsessed 4 year old.
My kids are loving this soccer toy, and it’s 50% off!
And I honestly can’t believe I bought this stupid thing but Margot saw it in the Amazon toy catalog and freaked out. It was on sale, and it’s still 50% off. I despise toys like this since they’re stupid and the excitement dies down pretty fast, but she seemed so excited. I planned on saving it as her Santa gift (we keep those pretty small) but she saw it so I’m going to give it to her after her MRI this week since that’s going to be a tough day for her.
What I wish I bought
How great is this bag? I usually stick to neutrals for bags but it feels neutral adjacent? It’s beautiful.
I love this jacket, too.
And I want this sweater in black/cream or vicuna/navy.
Have a great night. Off to hang with my girls, my sister, and our friends.
I ordered the Tineco wet vac and it’s absolutely amazing! Thanks for the recommendation - my floors were so dirty and I had no idea. 😬
