The last week has been a lot. Not bad - just a lot.
I parted ways with my therapist of over 2 years, and it was a lot more emotional than I though it would be. I talked more about our journey here. That transition probably sparked the change, but I’ve decided to start talking more about my experience with trauma and grief. So I got very personal and for the first time, talked about when things really fell apart with my mom.
Let’s talk more about my paid posts. Most of my content will be free. But the more personal posts or ones that contain information I might not share on my blog will be paid. This feels like the safest way to do the deeper dive I’ve been wanting to do for so long. You won’t be missing out on anything I’ve already been doing, but that new (very) personal content that sometimes takes years to put out there (or never makes it to my blog) will be available for paid subscribers.
I had a talk with one of my best friends, and we both went through similar experiences (family member with cancer), major shifts in our friend groups, and she is now going back to school to become a therapist. She said something that made me realize why I have been trying to figure out what’s next.
And I can’t shake that feeling. Do I become a parent coach and eventually go back to school? Do I start the brand I almost started 2 years ago? The uncertainty feels oddly comfortable – I have ideas and there isn’t an urgency to them. Jack is so little, and I am still finding my way after all we went through. Then this resurfaced and just wow – it was such an emotional moment.
On to lighter things. My girls both cut their hair and I know it’s a rite of passage and it’s wonderful that Margot has hair to cut but also…😑 We had a lazy weekend – holiday movies, decorating, and I’ve been figuring out what to get the girls for Christmas. I ordered this because they will absolutely love it, and it’s on sale.
I went downtown yesterday – Sézane invited me to a popup to preview the new collection – and it’s beautiful. I wore my Sézane cardigan and trench and was gifted a scarf and beanie. Everything’s linked here.
I am slowly updating my Black Friday / Cyber week post for those who want an peek. Off to get ready to meet a friend for coffee.
Here’s what’s new this week.
