One week from moving day, recent finds and purchases, and how I really feel post-op

Moving day is one week out. I feel ready mentally, but there is still so much to do, and the new house is currently a construction zone. We’ve done a lot the last few weeks, and I know a lot will happen the next week, but it’s going to be a while before we’re settled. I’ll share some more updates this week.

We’re going to pack one room a day until we leave, but today, Estelle and I are taking the kids to the beach with my friend and her kids. I missed two weeks of summer post-op, and it’s been crazy with the move. We need a day of fun.

I went to dinner with friends this week. It’s been a while since I’ve done that, and I really need to get back to prioritizing it. I see friends a lot with kids, but that time to connect without the chaos of kids running around is so important. I am also able to work out again, and after taking time off because my knee hurt, and then for surgery and recovery. I need to move my body again.

Every few months, I would almost buy this bag. With my friend’s wedding coming up, I finally caved. Sorry for the terrible photo. The house is pretty chaotic and I took zero photos.

I have these shorts in a few colors, but the coffee bean might be my favorite.

I bought these shorts, too, and wore them a few times this week. The crop looks like it would feel too cropped, but I like pairing it with a tee or tank.

I am not someone who wishes summer away, but with the kids going back to school, I got a little excited for this.

The New House

We’ve made a lot of progress at the house, and there’s still a very long way to go. The new floors are in and being stained in the next few days. Windows are done, drywall has been redone in the family room, we painted the first floor, and I went through the kitchen, mudroom, laundry room, and pantry designs with Melinda, so she should be able to order them in the next week or so!

The bedroom lighting and the girls’ wallpaper have arrived. I also decided on Jack’s wallpaper and Kira ordered that this week, too.
