It isn’t often that I share specifics about my kids, but after talking a lot with a friend about the parts of motherhood we’re both struggling with, I realized how important it is to be open about these things. I’ve always kept behavior issues offline but thought it might be helpful to have a conversation here, in a way that respects my kids, too.

My kids are 6, 4, and almost 2, and have rotated who is easy at various stages – and throughout the day – as kids do. I am really noticing the triggers that come up for me, and wanting to work through those. There are the parts that make me anxious and others that result in me being short with my (older) kids. So below, I’m going to dive into what’s the hardest for me, the one thing that makes me lose my cool, and how I’m working through it.
