Should I start a podcast?

I'm discussing my favorite podcasts and something I've wanted to do for years.

First, a backstory. Years and years ago, when I ran my old site, we recorded a first episode of a podcast. The guest wasn’t the most engaging and we had so many other things on our plate that it never went live.

Years later, I really wanted to start a podcast but again, through my old site. There was a ton of back and forth and ultimately, I was the one who was excited about it, but wasn’t given the green light to host. Long story, so it didn’t happen. But then it did, and when it did, I had already left.

Over the last year or so, I have gotten really into podcasts. My favorites are Smartless, How I Built This, Dear Chelsea, We Can Do Hard Things, and Good Inside (that last one is in the parenting space).

I realize that there isn’t a shortage of podcasts out there but I can’t shake the idea of going back to the original roots of why I wanted to start my old site. Sitting down one-on-one and diving into the real stuff (vs. small talk) is what I love. So I’d love to sit down and share the real, hard, inspiriting things that women go through. And yes, it’s important to hear from people who have found success, and I’d want to talk to those people, but everyone has a story and I think there’s something in that.

I also have so much to say about my life and healing, and conversations with other people who have gone through difficult experiences are always so inspiring to me. My decision to ultimately move forward will stem from me wanting to do this (or not), but I would really appreciate any thoughts or feedback.
