Paris plans, gratitude, perspective, and a little guilt
Getting ready for a week in Paris with my girl
I can’t believe I’m going to be in Paris next week. It will be my fourth time in the city, and this is my first time back since our wedding almost 7 years ago. To get to take Margot feels like a dream, although I’m having such a hard time with the fact that Kate isn’t coming.
More on that in a minute.
It was the ERAS Tour that pushed me to book this trip since 2 tickets in Paris cost less than 1 bad seat in Indiana. So you can’t beat that and bonus – it’s Paris. And Taylor Swift. Two of Margot’s biggest dreams are coming true next week and I’m her mom so that means my dreams are coming true next week.
I can’t wait to watch her eyes light up when she sees the Eiffel Tower, the Seine, the beautiful streets of Paris, and of course, Taylor.
I’ve never been to Europe solo and this feels like my first solo trip since it’s not like I’ll have another adult to share any sort of decision making. I know we’ll be fine once we get there. I had things pretty mapped out and spoke with a guide who helps families plan trips with kids. She moved things around a bit and made some wonderful suggestions. More on that below, too.
I want to talk more about my plans for the trip and how I’m feeling going across the world with one of my three kids.
