If you were raised by a narcissistic mother, you might struggle in some of the ways that I do. Being raised by someone who was self-centered, had a complete lack of empathy, and was often verbally abusive took a very obvious toll on me. My mom was often cruel and seemed to enjoy making fun of others. She never validated my feelings, and blamed me for almost everything that went wrong in her life.

Those of us who were mothered by a mother similar to mine will likely struggle after becoming mothers ourselves. I want to share my experience, how easy it has been loving my kids in spite of the way I was raised, and what I still struggle with 6 years into motherhood.
