Notes From The Week / Vol. 22
The one where I accidentally threw a birthday party, everything I wore this week, and my pre-op appointment.
We’re celebrating my daughter’s sixth birthday today, and what started as “a few friends over for cake” turned into a custom Stitch banner (two, actually), a face painter, a shaved ice truck (Hawaiian shaved ice is basically a must at a Stitch themed party), and three of my best girlfriends and their girls. In my defense, we went to a party last Friday that had a face painter and a banner, and I couldn’t let a random Friday be more fun than my daughter’s birthday. Making magic for my kids might be my favorite thing.
WHAT’S NEW THIS WEEK
How Affiliate Marketing Actually Works — I did a full deep dive on exactly how affiliate income works and how much I’ve made the last few years. (paid post)
I Made $400,000 Last Year. My Business Expenses Were $15,344. — Real numbers, exactly what I spent to run this business, and every tool and service I actually use. This one resonated more than almost anything I’ve shared. (free post)
I've been feeling really inspired by sharing this content and love how much it's resonating, so there’s a lot more coming. It’s wild that the post I was too scared to share for a year was the one that resonated most, and inspired a whole series of posts in my head that I know can help other women. I need to learn to trust myself a little more.
If you have any specific requests, please let me know.
WHAT I WORE THIS WEEK
I actually took photos of what I wore this week which is a HUGE deal for me since I’m normally so bad about it. Everything’s linked here (by photo so it’s easy to shop). A quick note that I love my red linen dress so much that I bought it in brown.
THIS WEEK’S FINDS
This eyelet top and short set is so pretty.
This quick dry button down and short set is so easy to wear.
This swimsuit. It runs TTS and as a size small/C cup I found that it fit perfectly and bonus — it has support!
I got this knit set (top and bottom) and love it but am trying to figure out how much I’ll wear it with the kids. Should I keep it? It’s really pretty.
These green striped Lake pajamas (gifted by the brand) launch the 29th. They’re the prettiest shade of green and so perfect for summer.
The cutest beach pants.
WHAT I WATCHED
Ummm…nothing? I meant to watch TV but between the very in-depth Substack content, family time, and banner making, it just didn’t happen.
What should I watch next?
THE PARTS I DON’T WANT TO FORGET
We met Jackie, Bianca (who just launched her new Substack!), and Allyson (her account is private and I love that for her) for an outdoor concert and it was one of those quintessential summer nights — lawn chairs, shaved ice, kids running around, live music, and everyone staying out way too late. These ladies have made this place feel like home.
My friend Kira Obermeier was in town for work, and it was so nice getting to see her for dinner. She’s helping me with the house, so we looked at fabric and wallpaper samples in the driveway of her Airbnb after dinner. There’s a lot to narrow down — I’ll share more soon.
I have loved all our time with Estelle. Our girls day downtown, and decorating for the party together were probably my highlights for the week, but having her here brings me so much joy.
BEHIND THE PAYWALL
