Hi! I published my monthly BTS post yesterday, and shared lots of personal and work updates there, so my usual Sunday post is going to be a little lighter.

We went to the pool with friends yesterday. My friend (her IG is private so not tagging her) took my oldest with her after the pool and I organized during nap while my husband played tennis with my daughter in the basement. Then we all went over to our friends’ for dinner. It’s so much more enjoyable to parent in community. The kids are generally happier and busier, and we get some friend time in, too.

Conor is playing tennis this afternoon, so he’s going to keep the kids busy so I can have some downtime for an hour or so, too. My friend Bianca and her daughter are coming over this afternoon, and my oldest has a playdate. It should be a nice day.

I’ve been thinking about how lonely things felt until I started to find my people after our move, and last week, I heard from a few of you who are struggling to find friends close by.

I recorded a podcast episode with Claudia last week and we ended up talking for over an hour after we stopped recording. Our episode will go live in a few weeks. I have Tuesday’s episode ready, and then my episode with Claudia two weeks later, and nothing else is recorded. How I ever thought I could do this weekly is beyond me.

I’ve been doing a lot of organizing, going through all the boxes in our basement, and slowly going through every drawer and cabinet with the hopes of simplifying everything.

I also made the best beef stew this week, combining a few recipes, and adding some ingredients, so I’ll try to get it together to share it soon. I’m sure any slow cooker beef stew would be fine though.

You know where I stand with this administration. It’s all too much, and I’m trying not to lose my mind after this, because anyone else would lose their job. I joined a group of 200+ liberal women who want to make a difference, and just gathering with like-minded people helps. We have two events over the next two weeks which feels good.

ICYMI Your Kids Need Valentines

I completely spaced on this, and if you did, too, it’s ok, because I have free printable Valentines on my blog.

If you’re wanting to do something sweet and simple for your kids, how about a book?

What I Watched

Shrinking is back! I love that show.

Conor and I watched Best in Show because somehow, we lost another legend. We also watched the first episode of Schitt’s Creek, and I think it’s time for what will be my third rewatch.

And of course, Taylor’s Opalite music video which confused the hell out of my children. 🤣

Can we talk about how Wicked: For Good didn’t receive a single Oscar nomination? Sure, the first movie was better, but 10 noms vs zero feels a little harsh. Set designs? Costumes? And Cynthia Erivo should have been nominated for something.

Discount Codes and Sales

If you need a new mattress, we love ours, and the code DANIELLE will get you 22% off your order. It’s comfortable and cooling,

I just added this bag to my wish list for my California trip next month. I almost bought this one in Paris, so it’s on my wish list, too. Use the code DANIELLEMOSS to get your first month free.

I’m looking at rugs for an unfinished room in our home and Ernesta is having a sale right now. My favorite sisal rug is on sale, too.

Links from the Week

AYR makes my favorite long-sleeve button down tee, and the brand just sent me this striped tee.

Petite Plume just launched the cutest pajamas. I love these, too.

I just started using this under $20 foundation, and this under $15 weightless serum concealer (to cover redness in my skin). The brand is clean, affordable, and works so well.

My friend’s toddler was carrying this little snack purse around.

We need a new doormat for our back door. I really like this, this, and this one, too.

I’ve been feeling a lot less anxious. I’m sure going off my ADHD meds helped (more on that here) and planning my days out, but I started taking a stress support supplement recently, too and think they’re making a difference.

I’d like to give a shoutout to our litter box. It made travel so much easier since it cleans itself. We had a scale issue with our new box and they sent a (brand new) replacement 2 days later. I love good customer service. I highly recommend getting this, too.

Read on for a few more house projects, personal updates, and why we’re trading in our SUV.
