That point about intentional time with friends before life gets too complicated realy stands out. Seventeen years is a long gap for quality time, but sounds like it was worth the wait. The unplugging list is solid too, doing something tactile like Legos or crochet helps when everything online feels overwhelming lately.

She's come out to visit a few times, and I've done the same, but we usually had kids with us. This was the first time it was just us, and it was so nice. We all need something that we can work on that keeps us off our phones right now. Of course taking action is important, but like you said, it's so overwhelming.

Currently watching Great British Bake Show and it really is calming. I suggest starting from season 1 which you can watch for free on Roku Channel has that PBS feel which is grounding for me right now.

Also Sinners is fantastic - visually stunning, music is moving and the story has so many themes that make you think.

I'm starting it with my 7 year old (who loves baking shows). I'll look into sinners, too (haven't heard of it) 🙈 Thank you!
