Notes From the Week, 1.18
Work and life updates, links, getting ready for CA, and other thoughts
How’s everyone holding up? I know times are dark. I feel it, too. And this week, I’m holding onto glimmers of hope, and creating magic where I can, too. I was invited to attend an event with voting group platform Sway, and then gathered with 75 women who want things to be better, through protesting, showing up to school board meetings, helping their neighbors, and more.
We are not alone in this, and we can work together to make a difference.
Your light is going to irritate a lot of unhealed people.
My friend Bianca posted this quote in stories, and it really resonated.
Work and Home
I tried to be productive this week. I finally shared on update on the affordable option to my concierge doctor and how I’ve been able to maintain and improve my health.
I also ordered a new computer since my 5 year-old laptop was moving sooooo slowly and it was starting to really impact how quickly I can get things done.
I made a few crock pot dishes, including this favorite recipe that 1/3 of my kids eats. Moms, you are doing your best. Some kids are picky. It’s ok.
I’ve been trying to stay on top of laundry and organizing, and tackled a few more organization projects. I’ll share on IG tomorrow.
Links
My Shopbop Hearts are up to date. I don’t need another Staud dress but I do love this one.
Varley’s new collection is live.
Evereve is having a big denim sale. This is one of my favorite styles. They’re really comfortable.
The Container Store is having a big 30% off sale. I bought a few of these.
I started this, but am committed to staying consistent. Does anyone have any great before and after stories?
And I shared this one last week, but my favorite jeans (I have both washes) are 50% off in the darker wash. I cannot recommend these enough, but please trust me and size down a full size.
I’ve been seeing the cutest spring pieces pop up for kids. I love these shoes, this dress, this jacket.
I’m back on the ARMRA train, but forgot that it can’t go in hot beverages. I used it so long ago, then really fell off the supplement train. So back to adding it to smoothies, which is what I was doing in the first place.
This Week
My knees haven’t been feeling great, so I haven’t been working out. They are feeling better than they were, so I’m hoping rest helps.
A new podcast episode went live with grief expert Barri Leiner Grant. She shared how she carries her mom with her almost 30 years after losing her far too soon. We talked about Buddy, too. If you have listened to my podcast and it has resonated with you, I’d be so grateful if you took a second to leave a five star review. I have had very few reviews compared to the number of listeners, which makes sense, but those reviews really helps the podcast grow.
I need to pack for CA since I leave tomorrow. It’s been years since I lived in CA all my life and somehow don’t know what to wear in 70 degree weather in January. Really looking forward to jeans and sandals weather, and uninterrupted time with my friend.
My travel plans are a little crazy the next few weeks, but I am really looking forward to spending so much time in California. I had to squeeze it all in before things change here. IYKYK.
