House Notes: Construction Has Begun

The projects we started first, the full construction timeline, and a furniture sale dropping next week.

We started construction on our new home and move in just a few weeks. The plan is to tackle a few projects and keep going, one after the other until it’s done. This house feels like such a good fit for us but needs some updates, and you know we love a project. We’re fully renovating the kitchen (which I’ve never done before), and reworking an office, bathroom, and laundry room to become a pantry, mudroom, and laundry room.

My friend Kira David is flying in for the day later this week, and we're going to knock out some big decisions — new beds for everyone, wallpaper and window treatments, furniture placement (you can see my favorite pieces here), upholstery, and more.

We're going to be selling some furniture (local pickup only), and I want to give my paid subscribers the first chance to buy. I have a pretty good idea of what’s going (selling all of our beds and at least one sofa), but plan to finalize my list with Kira. I’ll share everything we’re selling on Substack this coming Monday.
