(Early) Weekend Reading #46

Slowing down, what's new in my closet, my clean (sheer!) sunscreen, CBD & THC, a teacher gift idea, and the strangest thing that happened. Is it a sign?

I’m on vacation so every day is the weekend, and it’s Friday, it’s almost the weekend. We’ve been spending our days at the pool and beach, and it’s been so nice to have these slow days with the kids. We swim at the house when Jack is napping and it’s just so nice to be outside in the sun.

A helpful tip: I set an alarm every 90 minutes to remember to reapply sunscreen.

For any regular readers, I’m actually curious — do you prefer a Friday or Saturday weekly newsletter?

I know no one wants to think about childhood cancer, but today marks 5 years since my girl was diagnosed with Leukemia. If you’d consider making a $5 donation to Alex’s Lemonade Stand to help make treatment better for these kids, it would mean the world to our family. If I know one thing for certain, it’s that I was meant to fight for the almost 50 kids that were diagnosed every day. I believe so much in the work that ALSF does and have gotten to know Liz (Alex’s mom) over the years. She and her husband Jay are remarkable people who just want to make things better. The research they funded cured Alex’s cancer. If she were diagnosed today, she would have survived and I think we can all agree that all children deserve to grow up.

I planned solo dates with both girls yesterday. Kate and I went to the playground and to the beach to look for seashells and to jump in the waves. Margot and I went for a walk and sat on the beach for a little bit. I really love getting one-on-one time with them.

It was a slow work week, but that’s sort of been the theme of 2025. I packed and got a few things done, scrambling to wrap up a partnership that I filmed before we left and edited Wednesday night. But I got an email back with “LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the content!” which felt great.

My Favorite Clean Sunscreen is on Sale

Everything’s 20% off at Supergoop, and my completely sheer sunscreen stick is a must-have for summer.

This lotion is white but rubs in clear or you can buy the sheer version with my sheer stick.

Let’s talk about CBD/THC Gummies

I am on anxiety meds but still have moments of feeling anxious, and I love these gummies because the dose is so low so they just take the edge off. Add 3 to your cart and use the code STOCKUP to buy 2 and get the third bottle free. The sleep gummies are great, too. The other ones I was using were great but they made me feel a little high and I definitely tasted the THC, but these are so low dose and delicious.

What are your thoughts on CBD/THC gummies? I don’t take them and drive — even the lowest dose, but do like taking them at night and feel normal but less anxious.

And here’s a rare photo of my boy because I look back at old toddler photos of the girls and they look so different to me. It honestly started to feel like a lot when they were in school which he’s not and he has his sunnies (or “sussies” has he calls them) on.

New for Summer

I splurged on this sarong as a little gift to myself for Mother’s Day and I love it. I’ll live in it this summer.

I got this coverup, too. It’s so pretty in person.

I have a sandal problem.

This pajama set in blue.

I have two favorite swimsuits, and one of them is 20% off right now. I just bought my second one in cocoa.

This shirt and pareo are so cute for summer. You can wear either piece separately or wear the two together.

The perfect black linen dress. I it’s a tie-back so not the most bra-friendly. I wore these with it.

These under $40 sunglasses.

Not new to me but my go-to summer bag is back in rotation. I just throw this pouch in there with a diaper or two, wipes, and a few other essentials.

This adorable terry dress was just restocked and is available in almost every size. I got it for Margot weeks ago but it was sold out in Kate’s size and I’ll be the first to admit that I have a problem and bought it for her, too.

A Great Teacher Gift Idea

I am in the camp that teachers deserve cash (if allowed) or gift cards because that’s truly the best and most-needed gift for them, but if you do want to get them something useful, this monogrammed tote is a great option. You can’t have too many of these — they’re great for everything.

A Few Sale Finds

Serena and Lily’s MDW sale started early. Select items are on sale, so I put together a roundup of my favorites here.

My travel charger keeps my phone fully charged all day.

My cord organizer is on sale, too.

My new vacuum and my wet vac are both on sale.

Summer is less than a month away, and that means homemade ice cream and other frozen treats. We love our Creami, and it’s on sale right now!

These retractable markers are the best. Stock up — they’re great birthday gifts.

If you have kids, these silicone ice cream toys are perfect for water tables and the bath.

On to the strange thing that happened this week and some thoughts on motherhood, my mom, and triggers around that.
