Catching Up
My big mom week, recent finds, you won't believe what I bought the girls, and getting ready for LONDON.
I’m wearing these jeans (they run TTS and are SO comfortable around the waist), this belt, and this tee (have it in 4 colors)
I have been in mom mode this week. We spent Monday downtown – first, for a checkup on the oncology floor (completely routine and everything’s great) where my sister surprised the girls. We walked over to American Girl, went out to lunch, and I had my hair colored and styled while the girls played on their iPads. The girls were so sweet and it was just so fun being out with them. These ages (4 and 6) are the best.
Tuesday was my big work day. I shot a few reels, wrapped up a couple of blog posts, and got things scheduled out since I leave for LONDON this weekend! I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little (read: very) anxious after Taylor’s shows being canceled this weekend. But we can’t not go. Right?
We picked my sister up downtown Wednesday and headed to the Lincoln Park farmer’s market and zoo. It was a long but very fun day in the city. Thursday was spent at a theme park. The girls had a blast with their friends who are like cousins to them. And it was a really fun day minus the fact that I ate some bad carrots or maybe it was the bite of old hummus (tossed immediately) but right after we arrived at the park, I wasn’t feeling great. I felt pretty awful but managed to rally and went on some very spinny rides. Thankfully, I didn’t throw up until after we left so that was a win. I spent the rest of the evening laying low in bed, snuggling my girls, and watching Inside Out.
We planned on another adventure Friday but decided to plan a craft and puzzle day at home. We’re going to play with my new cricut, do some diamond painting, and I have some sunglasses to bedazzle because that’s what I do now.
And I still need to pack but I’ve been avoiding it because I really don’t know what suitcase to bring. A carry on makes the most sense but between Harrods, Jellycat, the Paddington store, Trotter’s London, and Liberty, I want half an empty suitcase to bring things back. I don’t even care if that sounds ridiculous – they have such great shopping. I have a carry-on and this foldable duffle so we’ll see.
Also, I caved and bought Crocs for the girls. I don’t love Crocs but they’re kind of cute on little kids. Margot really wanted them and when Kate found out about the Hello Kitty jibbitz it was all over for me. Who am I to crush their style dreams?
I had more Shopbop restock notification luck and got this dress in brown. It arrives today!

We’ve been really into puzzles so I just got this puzzle and this one, too.
I got this for the trip because I decided I’m going to be one of those people who reads books again.
Not ready for halloween but my girls love cats and Margot has decided purple is her new favorite color, so I might have to get these
This is so random but when I was working on updating our travel/on-the-go toy list, I saw that one of my girls’ favorite toys has a few new versions coming out, so I had to snag them. I’ll save them for their stockings if I can hold out. If your kids love tiny things, they’ll love these.
I started shopping for Jack’s fall outfits since he is sizing out of everything and a new season is coming, weather I like it or not.
I totally hear you on the crocs. I've always thought they're one of the ugliest shoes ever, but my kids love them and honestly, for the price, they hold up very well. They're quick to get on and the kids can personalize them with the Jibbitz, so they know which ones are theirs in a sea of Crocs somewhere.
